Sheep have panoramic vision of 330° to 360° and binocular vision of 25° to 50°. They are thought to have colour vision and are able to distinguish between a variety of colours: black, red, brown, green, yellow and white. They have no accommodation, so must lift their head to see distant objects. This also means that they are unable to judge depth as accurately as some other animals. Sheep eyes possess very low hyperopia with little astigmatism. Such visual characteristics are likely to produce a well-focused retinal image of objects in both the middle and long distance.

quem vem do cemitério pela rua do antigo teatro, chegando ao largo onde estão as ruínas da igreja dos jesuítas, vira à direita, para a rua da estação do caminho de ferro, e segue sempre em frente, acompanhando a linha do comboio, até chegar a um barracão a que chamam museu e onde guardam as velhas locomotivas a vapor e as ferrugentas carruagens de bancos de madeira. Aí, mete pela rua onde não passam carros até chegar a um quiosque, daqueles redondos, frente ao qual, do lado esquerdo da rua, existe um cafezinho com esplanada onde ainda servem café de saco. Entra pelo café e sai pela outra porta, que dá para a rua do jardim. Contorna depois o lago dos cisnes, em direcção ao cruzamento com semáforos, e mete pela avenida do cinema, no sentido do novo bairro administrativo, até chegar a um arranha-céus acabado de construir. Aí, vira à direita para a rua que passa pelas piscinas recentemente inauguradas e, chegando ao centro comercial em construcção, aquele que dizem vir a ser o maior da Europa, com não-sei-quantas lojas e não-sei-quantos andares, enfia pela rua que ladeia os terrenos destinados ao futuro complexo desportivo no fim da qual encontra a... maternidade... maternidade...
